Dear Colleagues, Partners, and Friends in Allergy,
It is my great honour and pleasure to welcome you to the Hong Kong Institute of Allergy Annual Scientific Meeting 2026. This year's meeting holds special significance as we also celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Institute of Allergy (HKIA)—a remarkable milestone that reflects three decades of unwavering commitment to advancing allergy care, education, and research.
Under the theme "Unity in Diversity: 30 Years of Legacy," this year's meeting pays tribute to our enduring contributions in clinical practice and scientific discovery, while looking ahead to a future defined by innovation, integration, and international partnership.
Over the past 30 years, HKIA has grown into a leading authority in allergy and clinical immunology, fostering excellence through rigorous research, high-quality clinical care, and professional education. Our journey has been shaped by strong multidisciplinary collaboration—bringing together clinicians, scientists, allied health professionals, and policymakers—to address the increasingly complex challenges of allergic diseases.
This year's programme has been thoughtfully designed to highlight our legacy while embracing new frontiers. We will showcase cutting-edge research, translational advances, and real-world clinical insights that underscore the vital link between bench and bedside. Through plenary lectures, symposia, and interactive sessions, participants will have the opportunity to explore emerging trends in allergy science and practice across diverse disciplines.
In celebration of our 30th anniversary, we are especially proud to expand our international engagement, welcoming experts and partners from our new international collaborations. These partnerships not only enrich our scientific discourse but also reinforce our shared mission to elevate standards of allergy care worldwide. By connecting Hong Kong's expertise with the global community, we continue to strengthen our role as a bridge between East and West in advancing allergy and immunology.
We are also committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders in our field. Dedicated "Meet the Expert" sessions for early-career professionals, multidisciplinary case discussions, and knowledge exchange platforms reflect our ongoing investment in capacity building and innovation.
As we reflect on three decades of achievement, we also renew our commitment to shaping the future—guided by scientific excellence, collaborative spirit, and a global perspective. This Annual Scientific Meeting is not only a celebration of how far we have come, but also a catalyst for the progress yet to be made.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I warmly welcome you to this landmark meeting. May it be an inspiring and rewarding experience for all.
Warm regards,
Philip H Li
